WWE is company that consistently features scripted promos on television, but AEW will be taking a different approach when their show goes live on TNT in October.
AEW will be going head to head with NXT, and Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that NXT is a heavily scripted show, but AEW will be a show with no writers.
He then went on to mention that several promos on Monday Night Raw this week were not scripted word for word.
Fans have been criticizing the scripted promos in WWE for some time now with one common complaint being that they sound lifeless, so it will be interesting to see if WWE allows wrestlers to cut more unscripted promos moving forward.
