For weeks now the wrestling world has been talking about potential matches for Gunther at WrestleMania. During the most recent episode of Raw, Gunther made his return to television and he put Seth Rollins to sleep in a segment that set up Rollins vs. Gunther at WrestleMania.
WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select is reporting that the decision to book Gunther vs. Seth Rollins for WrestleMania was finalized the week before the March 30 episode of Monday Night Raw.
According to the report this was not a unanimous decision as some on the creative team wanted to proceed with Seth Rollins wrapping up his Vision storyline, while others just wanted to get Gunther on the card. Even though Paul Heyman was featured in the segment with Gunther and Rollins on Raw, he is not expected to be in Gunther’s corner when The Ring General faces Seth Rollins on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
WrestleMania 42 will air live from Allegiant Stadium on Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19, 2026 and the current card can be seen below.
