Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins were dominating the tag team division on Monday Night Raw a few months ago, but their run unfortunately had to get cut short when it was revealed that Dean Ambrose was working injured. Ambrose later underwent surgery, and he’s expected to miss WrestleMania this year while he recovers.
Missing WrestleMania due to injury is something that Seth Rollins knows all about, and during a recent interview with MLive he said that Ambrose will be back, and it’s not about WrestleMania this year, it’s about WrestleMania next year.
“Neither of us, myself and Dean, had ever suffered any major injuries. For me in the months I was recovering, it was a good experience to step back away from being a pro wrestler and be myself and live my life and experience some things I never had the time for. If you’re going to get hurt, the period around Wrestlemania is the worst time. Ambrose is the man. He’ll be back. It’s not about Wrestlemania this year, it’s about Wrestlemania next year and the year after that. It’s about the long term.”
Rollins also commented on the massive Greatest Royal Rumble match which is set to take place in Saudi Arabia on April 27, and he teased that he could be wrestling for a long time when he enters the match.
“It’s going to be nuts. Royal Rumbles are long with 30 guys as it is. Now we’re looking at 50 guys. I honestly don’t know how it’s going to pan out. Maybe I’ll break my own record and be in there for two hours. Plus we’re going to be in the desert heat in Saudi Arabia. I’m sure it’s going to be as crazy as it sounds.”
