WrestleMania season is here, and in the weeks to come WWE will be announcing the inductees for the 2017 Hall of Fame class. During a recent interview with Wrestling Inc, Sean Waltman, better known as X-Pac from D-Generation X, expressed that he and Stone Cold Steve Austin believe Chyna (Joanie Laurer) should be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year.
Chyna was one of a kind, and it’s hard not to agree with him when he said that she deserves it, given the impact she had on pro-wrestling and how many women she inspired throughout the course of her career. When asked if he thinks 2017 is the right time to induct Chyna into the WWE Hall of Fame, Waltman had the following to say:
“I think it is. And I was talking to Austin about this the last time I was on Austin’s show and both of us feel the same about it. Why not in 2017? Explain to me why. And you can say that other people are in line ahead or whatever, and they are, they are. But I just think sooner’s better than later for sure. There’s no doubt in my mind that she’s going in, man.”
As reported earlier, Kurt Angle is set to headline this year’s WWE Hall of Fame class in Orlando, and so far he’s the only name that’s been confirmed for the 2017 class. It’s not clear if Angle will end up wrestling inside a WWE ring again, but during a recent interview with ESPN Kurt Angle named Seth Rollins and AJ Styles as potential opponents.
