Fans have seen some interesting groups in WWE over the last few years and throughout their time in NXT, Sanity became one of the most talked about factions on the brand. It seemed that the wrestling world had high hopes for Sanity when they got called up to the main roster in 2018, but they were rarely used, and Killian Dain ended up returning to NXT while Alexander Wolfe joined Imperium in NXT UK.
Alexander Wolfe recently explained on Developmentally Speaking that Sanity was split up so that everyone would have something to do on their own rather than sitting on the sidelines. Wolfe also explained that at one point there were plans to reunite Sanity that were scrapped due to the pandemic.
“There was actually a plan to re-form SAnitY.
“The plan later was they would separate me from Imperium, because I would be the weak link.
“Then in that time also, they would re-form SAnitY with Killian Dain and Eric Young, and they would win the NXT tag team gold. In that case, they would go on to feud with Imperium, and I would join SAnitY. We would have a feud against Imperium, and then we would go back to U.S. NXT.”
While Nikki Cross is currently the only former Sanity member on the WWE roster, Eric Young did return to the company in 2022 before requesting his release earlier this year due to the return of Vince McMahon. Shortly after parting ways with WWE, Eric Young returned to Impact Wrestling.
