Last week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown was an interesting show to say the least, but it seems that at least one segment that was originally planned for the episode got nixed.

WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select is reporting that a planned angle which would have seen The Miz attack Ilja Dragunov was pulled from last week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

According to the report the angle made it into some late drafts of the show, but ultimately it didn’t end up happening. The idea was that the angle would have led to a match between the two at some point down the line. There’s currently no word on if the idea has been scrapped completely, or if it was just delayed.

The Miz ended up facing off against Carmelo Hayes last week on SmackDown in a match that ultimately ended with Hayes picking up the win. A few weeks ago The Miz also stepped into the ring to face Ilja Dragunov on the 1/30 episode of SmackDown in another match which Miz also lost.

Stay tuned for updates.
