Recently it was announced that Mercedes Varnado, also known to WWE fans as Sasha Banks, will be appearing at C2E2 in Chicago next month.
Fightful Select reports that Mercedes is asking for $30,000 for appearances and one promoter said the price was, “exactly as expected.” It was noted that her asking price is that high because she left WWE on her own terms, hasn’t been part of the convention scene, and she has a fanbase that’s willing to support her.
The fee is reportedly comparable to what Sting asks for. The only talent that were more expensive are Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, Goldberg and Shawn Michaels, and the promoter said they would be happy to pay her rate because they knew they would make their money back.
Several promoters inside and outside of wrestling have expressed interest in booking Mercedes Varnado, and at least two wrestling promoters have inquired about booking her. One of the promoters confirmed that her team told them she wouldn’t be taking any wrestling related bookings until January 1, 2023.
