Tony Khan teased that he had some surprises up his sleeve for AEW Grand Slam at Arthur Ashe Stadium and on Wednesday night fans saw Saraya make her debut with All Elite Wrestling.
After Toni Storm successfully defended the interim AEW Women’s Championship in a four way match she was attacked by Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter. Serena Deeb also started attacking Athena, but their attention was diverted when Saraya made her entrance to a big pop from the crowd. Saraya commented on her big debut when she posted the following on Twitter:
“F**king WOW! Absolutely blown away by the pop in the stadium and the reception outside of it. Been a long journey. Couldn’t be happier to be in @AEW thank you to everyone! and thank you to my babe @RonnieRadke for letting me use his song Zombified! LFG!! ❤️❤️”
Saraya has been retired from in-ring competition due to injury since 2017 and she parted ways with WWE back in July after her contract expired. Over the last few years she’s teased a possible return to the ring, but AEW has yet to confirm whether or not there are plans for her to wrestle. Stay tuned for updates.
