The house was packed and the air was filled with excitement in Long Beach. California Sunday night as the Raw brand took the action to The Long Beach Convention Center. There were plenty of great matches in store for these fans, including the final match which featured Samoa Joe’s first main event spot on a house show. Big Cass and Enzo kicked off the night with their usual schtick and the fans in Long Beach knew every word of their popular jingle.
Apparently, Lana forgot where she was though as she began to insult the fans in Anaheim. Twitter blew up with several reminders to The Bulgarian Brute’s bae about where she was performing that night. The flub didn’t do her team any favors as Handsome Rusev and Jinder Mahal lost their match to the Realest Guys in the Room.
Neville defeated Rich Swann in the second match of the night and fans in attendance reported that this was a very good match. Apparently, Jack Gallagher isn’t making the house show loop just yet. They’re most likely going to lay it all out at Fastlane without much of a practice run at this point. On another note, the staff at the convention center were very particular about people taking pictures, luckily there were still more than enough fans who were able to document the night for us all.
Just when the Golden Truth and Curtis Axel thought that they weren’t going to find another partner to help them defeat The Shining Stars, Bo Dallas, and Titus O’Neil, they had some big help walk down the aisle.
Big Show is moving better than some have ever seen him at this point. He’s gotten in amazing shape to prepare himself for his expected WrestleMania 33 encounter against the 4-time NBA Champion and 3-time NBA Championship MVP, Shaquille O’Neal.
Although Anderson and Gallows got the win in their match against New Day and Sheamus and Cesaro, there was still some pretty nifty tandem offense between the two face teams against The Club.
The Monster Among Men might have come out on top in his contest against Sin Cara, but the faceless one still got some neat spots in.
California crowds love seeing Bayley, and she loves to Hug them too. Sasha teamed with the Hugger of Huggers to defeat Charlotte Flair, and Nia Jax.
The main event of the evening was an exciting tag match featuring Roman Reigns and Sami Zayn taking on Samoa Joe and Kevin Owens. We’re going to miss seeing that belt on KO, but if it means that he’ll get to scrap with Samoa Joe eventually, then we’re on board. A confrontation between the two was teased the show, but they never came to blows. Joe also wasn’t involved in the loss either. They booked the match so Owens took all the final damage and suffered the clean pin, which is a smart move because they don’t want Joe looking weak this early in his main roster run.
Of course, there were a ton of social media posts from last night’s show that didn’t make it in the article. But, fortunately for you, we care about our readers so very much that you can find some pretty cool ones below all for the price of admission to this article.
