Samoa Joe was well known in the wrestling world long before he made his debut in NXT. After he joined the brand, Joe quickly climbed to the top of the ladder in NXT and he became the first ever two time NXT Champion.
The Samoan Submission Machine has won titles in just about every promotion he’s worked with and he recently told PressOfAtlanticCity.com that his next goal is to become a champion in WWE.
“The goal is gold. I think that goal has never really changed. I’ve been a champion everywhere I have gone and WWE will be no different. I will be a champion here. I will capture as much gold as humanly possible. That’s my mission right now.”
Samoa Joe is just one of several TNA stars who parted ways with the company and found success in WWE. Although at times it’s surreal for fans to see guys like AJ Styles, Bobby Roode and Joe achieve incredible things in WWE, Joe says he’s not surprised that things turned out this way.
“It’s no surprise to me. It’s funny because it’s surreal how often I hear fans are surprised that in 2017 who would have thought, which is often a term that I hear used whenever you use any of those names in conjunction with WWE. It is definitely no surprise. The cream rises to the top. The very best of this business will find their way to the biggest stage and seeing all those guys now come to WWE just proves that theory and it’s awesome to see everybody up here with me.”
Now that Samoa Joe is officially a part of the Raw roster, he has a chance to win the Raw Tag Team Titles, the United States Title, or the Universal Title. Which belt would you like to see him win first? Sound off in the comments below.
