Samoa Joe defeated Finn Balor on Thursday night to become the new NXT Champion and he made history in the process. Samoa Joe is now the only man in the history of professional wrestling that has held the TNA World Title, the ROH World Title and the NXT Title.
Samoa Joe won the TNA World Championship when he defeated Kurt Angle at Lockdown in Lowell, MA on April 13, 2008. It’s interesting to note that last night he won the NXT Championship in the same city where he won the TNA World Championship.
