Samoa Joe has done a lot in his career and he’s never let much stand in his way, but apparently, today is not his lucky day. Even though it was actually a pretty good day to start out with for Joe seeing how he announced he had a neat role in the upcoming Transformers franchise.
The Samoan Submission Machine has a passionate fanbase so it should come as no surprise that Samoa Joe won a poll on Facebook to become Bayley’s tag team partner for the upcoming WWE Mixed Match Challenge series on Facebook Watch.
But unfortunately, Joe won’t be able to make the festivities because Kurt Angle announced Samoa Joe is injured. Therefore Joe can’t perform in the groundbreaking series which could find a new home for future WWE programming for years to come.
Elias came in second place in front of Jason Jordan on the poll so Bayley will have Elias as a partner instead. This is terrible timing for Samoa Joe as he was expected to continue his beef with Roman Reigns which could have seen a big match at the Royal Rumble.
Let’s just hope this injury isn’t so bad that it will cause Samoa Joe to miss another WrestleMania. He was totally healthy last year, but just completely ignored during the show for some reason. It would be awesome if Samoa Joe is able to get back to fighting shape in time to jump on the Road To WrestleMania.
The only part I can’t figure out is when Samoa Joe injured himself on Raw this week. True, injuries can happen at any time during the most mundane movements due to wear and tear on your body. But if someone could point out the moment when Samoa Joe injured himself while squashing Rhyno that would be really helpful information to have.
But this injury is said to be legit and it’s just awful to hear stuff like this happen.
