Last week Samantha Irvin shocked the world when she announced ahead of Raw that she was parting ways with WWE. Irvin had been with the company since 2021 and had worked as the ring announcer for some of WWE’s biggest matches over the last few years.
Following her announcement there was some speculation that Samantha Irvin could be joining Ricochet in AEW, but Ricochet recently took to social media to say that she won’t be joining the company.
Recently Samantha Irvin opened up about her departure when she responded to a fan on Instagram with a comment that said, “I don’t like announcing.”
She then explained that she was hoping to take on a bigger role with WWE when she added, “Announcing was only supposed to be my way in. I wanted to manage, maybe even become general manager one day. But WWE saw no other future for me besides announcer. I love watching the action but I don’t love being an announcer.”
It’s not clear what the future holds for Samantha Irvin, but it was recently reported that she has some outside projects she wants to work on involving music.
