Rusev Pulled From This Weekend’s Live Events

Coming out of Tuesday’s SmackDown tapings there was some speculation that Rusev had suffered an injury and last night WWE confirmed it. They posted the following on their website:

“Rusev is currently being evaluated for a lower leg injury, WWE.com has learned.

The Bulgarian Brute suffered the injury Tuesday night during the SmackDown tapings in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.”

Following the announcement Rusev has been pulled from this weekend’s live events. He was scheduled to face John Cena in a cage match but Kane will be taking his place. The current rumor is that Bray Wyatt will be replacing him in the Intercontinental Championship match at Elimination Chamber.
