Coming out of Tuesday’s SmackDown tapings there was some speculation that Rusev had suffered an injury and last night WWE confirmed it. They posted the following on their website:
“Rusev is currently being evaluated for a lower leg injury, WWE.com has learned.
The Bulgarian Brute suffered the injury Tuesday night during the SmackDown tapings in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.”
Following the announcement Rusev has been pulled from this weekend’s live events. He was scheduled to face John Cena in a cage match but Kane will be taking his place. The current rumor is that Bray Wyatt will be replacing him in the Intercontinental Championship match at Elimination Chamber.
