Rusev is one of the most popular stars on SmackDown Live thanks to Rusev Day, but some fans feel that he hasn’t been getting the push that he deserves.
Over the last few months there have been a lot of rumors circulating in regards to Rusev’s status, but during an interview with TV+ (via Wrestling Inc) he said that he has no interest in working with another wrestling company.
“I love the place I’m in right now and I don’t consider anything else .. except a Bulgarian movie career [laughs].”
Rusev was also asked about who his closest friend is in WWE, and he named Sheamus. He said that his parents named their dog after Sheamus, and that the Celtic Warrior was very honored.
“Probably on our European Tour two years ago when we went to his house in Ireland. But I think our friendship might have happened when we were in League of Nations. But I’m sure that my visit to his home in Ireland gave the start of our friendship. Now he lives 5 minutes away from my house in Nashville.”
Rusev is currently scheduled to compete in the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match at the MITB pay-per-view on June 17th.
