For months and months fans have been chanting “Rusev Day” and Rusev’s popularity has finally helped him score a big opportunity.
On Sunday, Rusev will challenge AJ Styles for the WWE Championship at Extreme Rules, and he told ESPN that winning the title is on his bucket list.
“Becoming heavyweight champion and holding the top title is on my bucket list,” Rusev said. “That spot is always getting tighter and tighter, but why not? A man can always dream.”
It took Rusev a long time to secure a shot at AJ Styles and the WWE Championship, and the opportunity isn’t lost on the Bulgarian Brute.
The super athlete noted that it feels great to finally be part of the main event scene.
“It’s great,” Rusev said. “Finally being able to climb up all the way to the top. I’ve worked hard enough and done everything I’ve needed to do. It just feels good that I have this opportunity, and I’m not going to waste it.”
