WrestleMania is the biggest show of the year for WWE, but there are several other big shows on the pay-per-view schedule including Money in the Bank, Survivor Series, the Royal Rumble and of course SummerSlam.
For the past few years SummerSlam has been a mainstay at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, NY, and the big pay-per-view event will be returning to the Barclays Center again this year on Sunday, August 19.
But it looks like WWE could be making a change in 2019, as it’s rumored that SummerSlam may be moving to a different location next year.
WrestleVotes, who has broken stories in the past, noted on Twitter that there’s talk of SummerSlam moving locations in 2019 with the possibility of the event taking place from a MLB stadium.
SummerSlam, and the surrounding weekend events, are moving on from Brooklyn after this upcoming year. Location still TBD, but high probability of SummerSlam being held at a stadium venue. Likely a MLB stadium.

This would make sense as WWE recently confirmed that WrestleMania 35 will take place MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ on April 7 next year, so it’s unlikely that WWE will hold two of their biggest events in the same area in 2019.
MLB stadiums don’t always work out that well for wrestling events, but WrestleMania 19 is a perfect example of how those type of venues can provide a great home for a wrestling show.
Which city would you like to see host SummerSlam next year if the event doesn’t return to Brooklyn? Sound off in the comments below.
