WrestleMania 41 is only two months away and the card for the big show has been coming together in recent weeks. So far two matches have been confirmed for the event as Jey Uso vs. Gunther and Charlotte Flair vs. Tiffany Stratton have both been confirmed for the card.
In recent months there’s been a lot of talk regarding who Roman Reigns will end up facing at the Show of Shows this year. A few months ago it was rumored that WWE was considering Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk match for WrestleMania 41, and there’s also been talk of a potential Reigns vs. Punk vs. Rollins triple threat match.
Recently WrestleVotes shared an update on plans for WrestleMania 41 during Live Q&A on Sportskeeda’s Backstage Pass, and it was noted that Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk will likely be the main event if WWE goes in that direction.
“If we’re talking over the course of the last 12 months since WrestleMania 40, there’s been discussions for him at the top. Even going back to early November, when those rumors of him and Roman one-on-one were floated out there, I had heard that if that match takes place, that match will go at the top, no title. So, yeah, there’s been rumors of him being in the main event, of course.”
Roman Reigns was written off TV at the Royal Rumble after Seth Rollins hit The Tribal Chief with the stomp once on the floor, and once on the steel ring steps. It was later announced on Raw that Reigns will be out for an undisclosed amount of time.
In the meantime, CM Punk and Seth Rollins will both be competing in the men’s Elimination Chamber match next month, so we will have to wait and see how things play out in the weeks to come.
