The women’s division has come a long way in WWE over the last few years, and the company now has an abundance of talented women working on both Raw and SmackDown Live.
Over the past few months it’s been rumored that WWE officials could be moving forward with plans for a women’s tag team division, and even possibly Women’s Tag Team Titles, but it doesn’t look like that will be happening anytime soon.
Mike Johnson of PWInsider recently shared an update on the status of the women’s tag division, and he said that there’s been no talk of starting up the division.
“There’s been no talk of a WWE Women’s Tag Team Division at this point,” Johnson said via Ringside News. “I don’t know where that got started, but no.”
There are only so many people who can chase after the main titles at one time, and with so many female stars on the main roster it would seem that now would be a perfect time to focus on a tag team division, but nevertheless fans who are hoping to see it come together soon probably shouldn’t hold their breath.
