WrestleMania has come and gone and Cody Rhodes defended his Undisputed WWE Championship against John Cena in the night 2 main event. Unfortunately for Cody it was John Cena who walked away with the gold and now everyone is wondering where The American Nightmare goes from here.
Earlier this week The Rock appeared on the Pat McAfee Show, and he claimed that Cody Rhodes will have another run as champion then eventually turn heel when he said, “So if done right and finessed right and if nuanced right, down the road, that guy not only has an incredible babyface run again as champion but also an unheard run as a heel down the road.”
Dave Meltzer recently shared an update on creative plans for Cody Rhodes on Wrestling Observer Radio and noted that as of right now that’s not the direction WWE is going.
“He also said that Cody Rhodes was going to have another great run as a babyface and win the world title, and then eventually he would go heel. I was told on that one that is not the plan. It could happen, and he could probably even force it, but nobody is under the impression that that is the thing and where they are going.”
Cody Rhodes has not commented on his big loss at WrestleMania 41, but as of this writing WWE’s official website is currently advertising both Cody and John Cena for SmackDown this week.
