The Rock returned to SmackDown a few weeks ago to seemingly set up a WrestleMania match with Roman Reigns, but things have taken a drastic turn since then.
During the WrestleMania 40 press conference last week Cody Rhodes declared that he will be facing Roman Reigns at WWE’s biggest show of the year. Things later got heated as The Rock slapped Cody Rhodes. Rock, Reigns and Rhodes had to be pulled apart while Seth Rollins was going off on The Rock.
Following the exchange there had been some discussion among fans online speculating about a potential tag team match involving all four men at Elimination Chamber, but that won’t be happening.
The Wrestling Observer is reporting that WWE there are no plans for a Rock & Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins & Cody Rhodes match to take place at Elimination Chamber. The Rock is reportedly only booked for WrestleMania 40.
While Cody Rhodes is currently set to challenge Roman Reigns at WrestleMania, Seth Rollins’ opponent will be determined next month at Elimination Chamber in Perth, Australia. So far Drew McIntyre and Randy Orton have both qualified for the Elimination Chamber match.
