The annual WWE Extreme Rules pay-per-view aired on the WWE Network on Sunday night, and some big things happened on the main card, as well as the kickoff show.
Finn Balor defended his Intercontinental Championship against Shinsuke Nakamura on the pre-show, and Nakamura won the belt for the first time in his career after he put Finn Balor down with the Kinshasa.
Apparently there was a rumor going around claiming that Paul Heyman was upset because the IC Title match was on the kickoff show, but according to Mike Johnson of PWInsider that’s not the case.
Johnson noted that there were no blowups at the pay-per-view with Heyman or anyone else.
No truth to story making rounds @HeymanHustle was upset backstage at Extreme Rules over IC title being on Kickoff Show. In fact, talent were showing the rumor to Heyman & joking about it with him backstage tonight. No blowups backstage at PPV with anyone, Heyman or otherwise.

Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet also shot down the rumor, claiming that one source said it’s, “one hundred percent bulls*hit.”
According to reputable sources, the random report claiming Paul Heyman was upset about Finn Balor vs Nakamura taking place on the kickoff show is false. I’m told people were laughing about the report backstage and one source in the know said it’s “one hundred percent bulls*hit.”
