The annual Money in the Bank premium live event took place from London, England over the weekend and the show featured two Money in the Bank ladder matches. Ultimately Damian Priest won the men’s match and Iyo Sky won the women’s match.
Ahead of the show it was rumored that WWE could pull Zelina Vega from the women’s Money in the Bank match and replace her with Charlotte Flair. However, that didn’t end up happening as Zelina Vega went on to compete in the ladder match.
Fightful Select looked into the rumor and it’s being reported that WWE didn’t give serious consideration to the idea of pulling Zelina and replacing her with Charlotte as creative plans for Charlotte Flair have been in place for a while.
Creative plans for Charlotte Flair to be involved with Bianca Belair and Asuka were set before Charlotte returned. The idea is to have two top talent chasing Asuka for her title as a way to re-establish Asuka and add intrigue to her title reign.
