AJ Styles is the current WWE Champion, and Sunday night he successfully defended his title against Jinder Mahal at the Clash of Champions pay-per-view in Boston. Mahal and Styles battled in a hard fought match, and apparently there’s a rumor going around claiming that Styles recently suffered a knee injury. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter took to Twitter to comment on the rumor and he noted that any stories regarding AJ Styles being injured are false.
Right now would most definitely be a bad time for AJ Styles to be injured, as WWE has wrapped up the pay-per-view schedule for 2017, and now all eyes are looking ahead to the Royal Rumble.
Last year at the Royal Rumble AJ Styles lost the WWE Championship to John Cena, so we’ll have to wait and see if he walks out of the 2018 Royal Rumble with the title in his possession.
Speaking of the Royal Rumble, Stephanie McMahon announced on Raw this week that the first ever women’s Royal Rumble will take place on January 28, and hype for the match is now at an all time high.
Former NXT Women’s Champion Asuka commented on the historic match, and she said that no one is ready for her.
