Ronda Rousey’s Finishing Move Gets A Name

Ronda Rousey is in WWE and she’s going to be a full-time Superstar. It’s still uncertain exactly what kind of contract Rousey has with WWE but seeing how she popped up on the SummerSlam ticket and she’s featured in the advertisements for Survivor Series it’s safe to say she’ll be around quite a bit.

Rousey is also booked to appear on every Raw leading to this year’s WrestleMania so that’s something exciting to look forward to as well.

Fans got their first glimpse of Rousey’s wrestling ability this week on Raw during the opening segment where she took on Stephanie McMahon and laid waste to the Billion Dollar Princess. Rowdy Ronda got McMahon up in a fireman’s carry and landed a Samoan Drop but if you ask Rousey that’s not what her move is called at all.

It looks like Rousey is going full-on MMA with the naming of her finishing move. The move which many wrestling fans might see as a Samoan Drop now has a new name if Ronda Rousey is doing it as she called it the standing reverse kata guruma.

This judo influence in her character is certainly a nice touch and adds to her credibility as someone who could tear you apart if she wanted to. Of course, she probably has a handful of moves she could polish someone off with, but this power move is a really good start.

Rousey also included a link to a video featuring a ton of sick judo moves to further drive home the point that she not only knows what she’s talking about but she also means business. If Ronda can turn the Samoan Drop into a standing reverse kata guruma then I can’t wait to see what Rowdy calls a Stone Cold Stunner if she breaks one of those out.

Ronda Rousey and Kurt Angle will take on Stephanie McMahon and Triple H at WrestleMania in a match that is all about the women. Perhaps as Rousey sees her WWE career grow she could possibly main event the Show Of Shows in a singles match next time around. If her moveset is as devastating as the standing reverse kata guruma, then we could be in for some very cool things down the line.
