Ronda Rousey has been one of the biggest names in combat sports for some time now and she officially wrapped up her second run with WWE last year at SummerSlam. Throughout her WWE career Becky Lynch was one of Ronda Rousey’s biggest rivals, but they never ended up facing off in a singles match even though they did main event WrestleMania in a triple threat that also featured Charlotte Flair.
Recently Ronda Rousey appeared on Insight with Chris Van Vliet, and when she was asked why a one on one match with Becky Lynch didn’t happen at WrestleMania, Ronda Rousey indicated that Vince McMahon was the reason why.
Chris Van Vliet: “Why couldn’t the Becky match happen at WrestleMania?”
Ronda Rousey: “Because Vince is an 80-year-old a******.”
Van Vliet: “So there’s no love lost here with Vince McMahon?”
Rousey: “No, Vince McMahon, John Laurinaitis, Bruce Prichard, they can all suck a d***.”
Van Vliet: “But good with Triple H and Stephanie?”
Rousey: “They are fantastic, I love them.”
Ronda Rousey was also asked if she ever had anxiety related to what Vince McMahon thought of her in-ring performances, but she made it clear that she wasn’t concerned with Vince’s opinion.
“No, no. I didn’t give a s*** about that. I didn’t really give a f*** what Vince thought to be honest. I just wanted to have a great match. Sometimes I felt like instead of enabling us to have a great match, we were fighting against him in order to have a great match. No, once I was in there and in the moment and lost in it, there’s no better feeling than when you’re in it and you believe the story and you’re out there with your friends and you’re having a blast.
It was like, we had to march through, what were the marshes called in Lord of the Rings? The Dead Marshes. I was just going through the swamps of sadness just trying to be able to walk into the arena. Then once the music hit, I was like, f*** you, we’re gonna have a great time.
Then we come back and then I come back to the curtain. I’m like, f*** you, I’m going to my baby. I don’t want to hear s*** unless you actually have a plan for next week, which you don’t. You don’t have a f****** plan. I’m trying to get any information all week long, and then no one’s gonna tell me s*** until I get to the arena, and I’m still not gonna hear anything for hours. And they’re like so when are you coming back? I’m gonna go write a graphic novel, come talk to me later, I need a break.”
