Ronda Rousey quickly became one of the top stars on the WWE roster after she made her in-ring debut at WrestleMania 34, and she went on to have two successful runs with the company. Rousey finished up with WWE last summer and now she’s revealing her honest thoughts about the company in her new book Our Fight.
Bray Wyatt also achieved success during his time with WWE, but Ronda noted in her book that the former Universal Champion gave her some interesting advice when they crossed paths in a hotel gum.
“The next morning, I made my way down to the tiny workout room. My back ached. A fracture in my spine, first discovered in my initial WWE medical evaluation, combined with taking bumps every week, wasn’t doing it any favors. Neither was the rain. I was hoping a half hour on the elliptical might loosen it up before heading to the venue. I looked around the small beige space. A rack of dumbbells was against one mirrored wall, cardio equipment facing another.
A few weeks prior in a nearly indistinguishable two-and-a-half-star hotel gym, I had run into Windham Rotunda, better known as Bray Wyatt. We made small talk, and the space slowly cleared. My workout ended, and I climbed off the machine. He leaned toward me. “Just so you know, these people aren’t your friends,” he said. “No matter how nice they are, no matter what they say or how they act, we’re always just going to be pieces of meat to them. Get in, make your money, and get out.” “Thanks,” I said. “Appreciate the honesty.” It was the first time someone said aloud what I had started feeling.”
Fans who are hoping to see Ronda Rousey compete in a WWE ring and unlikely to get their wish as The Baddest Woman on the Planet has also indicated that she has no plans to return to the company at any point in the future.
