Earlier this week Ronda Rousey and Nia Jax appeared at the NBCUniversal Upfront presentation in New York, and Jax challenged Rousey to a title match at Money in the Bank.
Rousey graciously accepted the offer, and now the match is official. TMZ caught up with Ronda on the street while she was in New York and when she was asked about the big title match she said that she didn’t think it was going to happen this soon.
“I’m over the moon about it. I really wasn’t expecting it this soon, I’ve only had one match and I guess it’s a good strategy on Nia’s part to try and get me early before I get a lot of experience. But I think it’s going to backfire on her and I think everyone who’s watching Money in the Bank will be entertained regardless.”
Ronda was also asked about possibly having children with husband Travis Browne, and she indicated that she’s hoping it happens soon.
“Soon. Someday. Someday, soon, but I don’t know yet.”
On a related note, Ronda Rousey was originally scheduled to face Mickie James in a singles match at the WWE live event in Geneva, Switzerland, but WWE has announced that the match has been changed to a six woman tag match which will see Ronda team up with Natalya and Ember Moon.
