In the world of professional wrestling the goal is to get a reaction out of the crowd, which is something that Roman Reigns knows how to do. Sometimes the best way to get a reaction is to make as much noise as possible while hitting a move, and some wrestlers achieve this by slapping their thigh as they perform moves such as the superkick for example.
Recently Roman Reigns appeared on What’s Your Story? with Stephanie McMahon, and he jokingly addressed the wrestlers who slap their own leg as a way to make their moves sound more impactful.
“See all you weird workers slapping your leg, you see what you’re doing? Undertaker is just p*ssed off about this, and our youth, they’re just slapping. Learn how to work. Just drive by slapping the thigh in the face.”
As far as legitimate slaps go, Roman Reigns also addressed the time that Stephanie McMahon slapped him across the face 15 times during a segment on TV, and he confirmed that the slaps busted his eardrum.
“Busted my eardrum too. Shattered that sucker. The doctors were like ‘oh yeah!’ Hey, you’re gonna hit somebody, hit them. Your first few were good, they were good workers. I don’t know whose idea that was. Now just, down for a day.”
Roman Reigns will be returning to the ring on Sunday when he faces off against Bronson Reed at the Clash in Paris premium live event. He also shared some thoughts on his future plans with WWE as he breaks into the acting world and you can get more on that here.
