Roman Reigns defeated The Miz in the main event of Monday Night Raw this week, and now he is the new WWE Intercontinental Champion. Not only is Roman Reigns the Intercontinental Champion, but he’s also now a Grand Slam Champion.
After the main event Roman Reigns made his way backstage, and he was asked to comment on his big victory. Reigns thanked his family and his supporters and then he teased something exciting.
Roman said, “Open challenge coming soon. Anybody can get it.”
Open challenges aren’t something new to the Raw brand, as John Cena defended his United States Championship on a weekly basis a few years ago.
Cena’s US Open Challenge definitely helped make the belt more prestigious, so if Roman really does hold an IC Title Open Challenge it will only mean good things for the championship.
Speaking of the Intercontinental Championship, after the former champion The Miz was defeated in the main event of Raw this week, he found himself on the wrong end of a beatdown from The Shield.
The Mis cut a promo on the fans and told them that the show isn’t over. He ordered everyone to sit down and he told them that he’s the one who made the IC Title prestigious.
After a while The Shield decided that they had heard enough and they decided to hit Miz with the triple powerbomb through the announce table.
