Roman Reigns challenged Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at SummerSlam on Sunday night, and The Big Dog finally managed to defeat The Beast and win the title.
WWE has been pushing Roman Reigns as the top star on Raw for several years now, and even though some fans haven’t embraced his push, it seems to be working out in regards to merch sales.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Roman Reigns has overtaken John Cena to become the top merchandise seller in WWE.
John Cena has been away from WWE for most of the year, and he’s currently in China filming a movie, but this is still an impressive feat for Roman nonetheless.
With Roman’s big title win at SummerSlam, and his merchandise selling so well, it looks like fans can expect more of Reigns in the top spot for the foreseeable future.
