Roman Reigns and Samoa Joe just don’t know how to play nice in the ring. But then again, there’s also plenty of reason for them to go at each other in a big way. It’s not as bad as it seems because the Big Dog appears to be okay, but he did bust his head open during a match on the South African tour.
Samoa Joe went to South Africa with a vendetta to settle before going to SmackDown Live and Roman Reigns was up to take on the Samoan Submission Machine. But things got out of hand during the match and apparently, Roman Reigns had to call an audible on one of his favorite post-match rituals.
Roman Reigns battled Samoa Joe and during their match Reigns’ head was somehow busted open and blood started pouring down his face. It looks like he will be fine but his injury did keep Reigns from standing around ringside with fans and taking pictures with people.
Roman Reigns was also busted open at WrestleMania and with a cage match against Brock Lesnar coming up at the Greatest Royal Rumble, who knows if Roman could soon be wearing a crimson mask once again?
WWE Superstars usually do their fair share of selfies and autographs during house shows in the United States but they really try to do as much of that as possible when they’re on international tours for obvious reasons.
But Reigns did take the microphone after his match and have a chance to explain to the fans why he couldn’t stand around and meet people after the match. This was actually a smart move and a mature one as well, especially if the speech was Roman’s idea. It just goes to show they really don’t want people booing him, especially in an international market where they have a much better chance of convincing people that Roman Reigns is received as a babyface stateside.
As the old saying goes, you really never know what can happen in WWE especially when they go on an international tour.
