Roman Reigns is the top star on SmackDown right now, and he’s currently holding the Universal Championship which makes him the man to beat. A few weeks ago John Cena returned to WWE programming, and he made it clear that he wanted to challenge Reigns for the Universal Championship.
The Tribal Chief later cut a promo on SmackDown where he said John Cena’s gimmick is like, “missionary position every single night.” The line got quite the reaction from the fans, but WWE later edited the line out of the YouTube video on their official YouTube channel.
Reigns recently spoke to Sports Illustrated about the non-PG line and he said that he said that he doesn’t know why the company edited the line out.
“I don’t know why they edited it out. I think it raised some eyebrows. I don’t get in trouble. The gimmick is as close to being real as possible. Even if they tried to say something to me, I wouldn’t have cared anyway. What are you gonna do? Not have me on SmackDown next week? Like I did before SummerSlam last year, I’ll go home. It doesn’t matter to me. Let’s see how they do without me.”
Roman Reigns will defend the Universal Championship against John Cena at the SummerSlam pay-per-view on August 21st. Stay tuned for updates.
