Roman Reigns is heading into his third straight WrestleMania with the Universal Championship, and he’ll also be carrying the WWE Championship which he won last year when he defeated Brock Lesnar on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
Reigns first won the Universal Championship in 2020 and as he embraced his new Tribal Chief persona his cousin Jey Uso was one of the first to step up and oppose him. Jey stepped up to challenge for the gold, but ultimately became Roman’s right hand man after he was defeated by The Tribal Chief.
During a recent interview with US News, Roman Reigns admitted that he didn’t like feuding with Jey Uso, “and beating him into The Bloodline.”
However, Reigns indicated that the storyline started to make more sense to him when he added, “When these ideas in real-time started happening, it became a chain reaction, a domino effect. It’s been like an onion, peeling open, left and right, these awesome opportunities and different rabbit holes to dive down with these different characters we’ve involved.”
At WrestleMania 39, Roman Reigns will defend the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Cody Rhodes. The Usos will also be putting the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles on the line against Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn, so it will be interesting to see if The Bloodline is still holding gold when WrestleMania is all said and done.
