Roman Reigns returned to action a few months ago after taking time off to battle leukemia. The former WWE Champion received a positive reaction from the fans when he returned, and he’s been featured prominently on WWE programming ever since.
However, there are still fans out there who choose to boo Roman Reigns, but he told Sporting News that he wants the fans to do whatever they have to do to get into the show, regardless of whether they boo or cheer him.
“I want the fans to do what they want to do. I want to do what I want to do and that’s perform for them. That’s the relationship. That’s what’s so beautiful about our entertainment: We do it together. It’s not like we make it, we work on it, we send it out. No. We make it with the audience. As long as they are achieving what they set out to do when they come to these shows and that’s to have a good time, to get lost in it – whether it’s cheering or booing – as long as you’re having an emotional connection, that’s all I care about because I don’t want you to pay your money and then come here and sit on your hands,” Reigns added. “I want you to go nuts whether it’s in a good or a bad way. I want you to go crazy and have a great time and disconnect from the world and escape with us.”
Recently Roman has been appearing on both Raw and SmackDown Live thanks to the Wild Card Rule, and he noted that the schedule can be tough, but that’s the life he signed up for.
“It’s been crazy. It’s been a busy month between the shakeup and what the wild card brings. With the European tour and two weeks there, doing both TV [shows], we had Money in the Bank, ‘Raw,’ and ‘SmackDown,’ it’s been crazy, but that’s what it’s all about. I signed up to be a WWE Superstar and to live the fast life and these are the crazy opportunities and this is the schedule that we run. It can be hard at times, but I think in hindsight whenever I’m an old man and I look back, I think I’ll be pretty proud of a week like this.”
