Roman Reigns Is The New Number 1 Contender For The WWE Universal Championship

Last week on Raw, Kevin Owens successfully defended his WWE Universal Championship against Seth Rollins, with a little help from Chris Jericho. This week Jericho kicked off Raw, and Kevin Owens made his way down to the ring to meet his best friend. They did their BFF thing for a while, and then United States Champion Roman Reigns interrupted.

Roman Reigns taunted Kevin Owens, and told him that he can’t get anything done without the help of Chris Jericho. Roman Reigns was about to be added to the List of Jericho, but Kevin Owens told Chris Jericho to shut up, and he continued to argue with Roman Reigns.

A match was then made for later in the show with stipulation being that if Roman Reigns could beat Kevin Owens, he would earn a Universal Title shot at Roadblock: End Of The Line.

Roman Reigns and Kevin Owens battled back and forth for quite a while, but it was Reigns who got the victory.

The end of the match came when Kevin Owens was sitting on the top rope, and Roman Reigns hit him with a Superman Punch. Owens then went to the outside, and Reigns hit him with another Superman Punch then rolled him back in the ring.

Roman Reigns set Kevin Owens up for a spear, but Owens reversed it and sent Roman into the ropes, Roman then connected with the spear to end the match.

Roman Reigns will go on to challenge Kevin Owens for the Universal Championship at WWE Roadblock: End Of The Line on December 18.
