Last week on Raw it was announced that Universal Champion Kevin Owens would defend his title against Seth Rollins at Clash of Champions, but later in the show Roman Reigns entered the title picture.
Reigns confronted Kevin Owens at the end of Raw, and General Manager Mick Foley announced that the two would face off in a one on one match. If Reigns could defeat Owens, he would earn himself a spot in the title match at Clash of Champions.
The match took place this week on Raw and Kevin Owens won by disqualification, but then he just won.
Prior to the match Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins had a confrontation backstage, and Owens talked some serious trash to Rollins. Mick Foley saw that Rollins was heated, so he told him to stay away from the main event, or there would be serious consequences.
Seth Rollins didn’t listen to Mick Foley and instead he interfered and hit Kevin Owens from behind, causing the referee to call for the bell.
Mick Foley then came out and ordered Rollins to go backstage before he restarted the match.
Kevin Owens and Roman Reigns battled back and forth for a while, then Rusev came down and distracted Reigns. Kevin Owens took advantage of the distraction and hit Reigns with the Pop-Up Powerbomb to win the match.
After the match Rusev attacked Roman Reigns as Lana watched from the stage.
