WWE has already confirmed a few matches for the Survivor Series pay-per-view, and it’s clear that this year’s show will once again feature a Raw vs. SmackDown Live theme.
It was rumored that WWE was looking to go in a different direction for Survivor Series this year, but plans had to be changed after Roman Reigns vacated the Universal Title to focus on his battle with leukemia.
According to @WrestleVotes, Vince McMahon didn’t want to book a Roman Reigns vs. AJ Styles match for Survivor Series, and this year’s show originally wasn’t set to feature many Raw vs. SmackDown matches.
When Roman Reigns revealed his diagnosis creative made some quick changes.
As far as other matches go, Team Angle vs. Team Corbin is still TBD, and it’s not clear if the rumored Shawn Michaels vs. Undertaker match will be taking place.
Shawn Michaels recently returned to the ring at Crown Jewel, but after the match he was asked if he’ll be returning to the ring in the future and he said, “I’m not gonna do it again if I can possibly help it.”
