Roman Reigns has been feuding with Braun Strowman for months now, and they have taken their feud to the next level over the past few weeks. However, their feud will unfortunately have to be put on hold for a little while as Braun Strowman is set to undergo surgery on his elbow, so he’ll be out of the ring for a while.
Strowman’s unfortunate injury has left Roman Reigns without an opponent for the upcoming Extreme Rules pay-per-view. It’s been rumored that WWE officials are discussing booking Reigns in a short term feud with Bray Wyatt, but now it looks like another idea is also on the table.
Bill Bhatti of Wrestling Inc is reporting that WWE officials were planning for Roman to feud with The Miz for the Intercontinental Title after Extreme Rules, but the feud may begin sooner than planned.
It was also noted that the original plan was for Roman Reigns to beat The Miz and win the Intercontinental Championship. Roman would then eventually move on to Brock Lesnar and challenge for the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 34 with the idea being that its the only title he hasn’t won.
If WWE officials do plan to move ahead with this feud ASAP, then it’s going to take some reshuffling of the deck so to speak.
Dean Ambrose is the current Intercontinental Champion, and Miz is set to challenge him for the belt on Monday Night Raw. If a Roman vs. Miz feud is the next step for both stars then it likely means Miz will be walking away with the belt on Monday.
