It was recently reported that WWE is in talks with ROH about possibly purchasing the company, and the report got the wrestling world talking. Looking at all of the former ROH stars who have gone on to become top names in WWE, it’s not hard to see why WWE would want to acquire the company, but Ring of Honor is downplaying the rumors.
As talks of a possible buyout circulated throughout the internet, Bleeding Cool reached out to Ring of Honor for a comment, and the wrestling promotion issued the following statement:
“Sinclair’s corporate policy is never to comment on speculative rumors and unsubstantiated stories.”
CBS Sports is also reporting that they’ve been in touch with two sources in ROH and one high-ranking source said, “there is no story here.”
ROH officials weren’t the only ones to comment on the rumors. One half of the former ROH Tag Team Champions, Matt Jackson of The Young Bucks, took to Twitter to address the situation as well.
According to Jackson, Ring of Honor isn’t going anywhere unless The Young Bucks buy it with their sweet merch money.

Sami Callihan and Trent Seven seem to be on board with this idea.

One fan even designed a logo for the new Ring of Honor, which would presumably be renamed Ring of Bucks.
