Why Rockstar Spud Is No Longer Working For Impact Wrestling

The Impact Wrestling roster continues to get smaller, as Reno Scum, Taryn Terrell, Rockstar Spud and more all recently parted ways with the company. Spud has been featured prominently on Impact over the past few years, and it turns out that his departure was due to a paperwork issue.

Sports Illustrated is reporting that during the Dixie Carter era, management failed to properly fill out the paperwork for Rockstar Spud’s visa. The company’s failure to properly submit his visa led to Rockstar Spud not being allowed to enter the United States despite the fact that he had bookings lined up.

Since Spud was unable to work the Impact shows, he wasn’t paid by Impact.

The paperwork issue did not involve the current owners of the company, Anthem Sports and Entertainment, although the company is currently cutting costs. In the end it was Rockstar Spud who requested his release.

Spud recently noted on Twitter that he is taking independent bookings, and rumor has it that he could be signing a new contract with a different company in the future.

It was recently reported that WWE officials are interested in possibly signing Rockstar Spud for the cruiserweight division, so we’ll have to wait and see if he pops up on 205 Live at some point.
