The Rock has had quite the career. He went from the blue chipper, Rocky Maivia, to WrestleMania headliner and WWE World Champion in just a few years. When The Rock started taking on films roles in 2001, everyone assumed he would be successful, and now 15 years later The Rock is the highest paid movie star in the world.
According to Forbes, The Rock has made $64.5 million dollars over the past year. Jackie Chan ranked behind him with $61 million, followed by Matt Damon with $55 million, Tom Cruise with $53 million and Johnny Depp with $48 million.
It was noted that The Rock was paid upfront fees for films such as “Central Intelligence” and the upcoming “Fast-8” and “Baywatch” reboot.
The Rock commented on his success when he posted the following on Twitter.
