Rob Van Dam On Why He Didn’t Re-Sign With TNA

Rob Van Dam was recently a guest on Chris Jericho’s podcast Talk Is Jericho. The two talked about RVD’s run in TNA, his most recent run in WWE and more. You can read some highlights below:

RVD mentioned that when his contract ended with TNA last year they spend some time negotiating a new one. He said that he kept contacting them only for TNA to respond by saying they would call him but the call never came. After a while of TNA dropping the ball RVD got frustrated and said he had enough.

“I got to a point where I was offended,” RVD admitted. “It struck my ego. So I was just like, ‘Well, screw them!'”

He said after that he reached out to WWE. He mentioned that he liked working with everyone in WWE during his most recent run but put over Alberto Del Rio and Cesaro. Jericho mentioned that Vince McMahon though Cesaro was boring at one point, RVD then noted that everyone in WWE is “super impressed” with how strong Cesaro is.

RVD said there were several guys that he liked working with in TNA such as AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Kurt Angle, Jeff Hardy and Abyss. He said one of his biggest regrets during his TNA run is that he didn’t have a good feud with AJ Styles.
