Road Dogg has worked in various roles for WWE throughout the course of his career and back in 2016 he was working as the lead writer for the SmackDown brand. During a recent episode of the Oh You Didn’t Know? podcast the former Intercontinental Champion talked about which storylines he was most proud of and he explained that he loved the Samoa Joe vs. AJ Styles feud as well as the storyline that saw Randy Orton join the Wyatt Family.
“The fact that I loved that — come on it’s AJ and Samoa Joe — but I also had the opportunity to co-author a children’s book that I thought was really good. The other one I loved was when Randy Orton was in the Wyatt Family and burned that house down. I know everybody has different feelings about that stuff, but I loved it. It was awesome.”
On the road to WrestleMania 35, KofiMania was running wild as Kingston worked to earn a shot at Bryan Danielson’s WWE Championship. In the end Kington captured the belt for the first time in a match that Bryan Danielson has said is his favorite match from his career. Road Dogg also showed love for the storyline while explaining that it was very important to him.
“KofiMania I love, didn’t produce the matches itself but wrote and executed or directed the execution of the story in the build-up to it. … but I was the lead writer of the show that we did it on. So I had an influence on that. Hugely important to me, I love it for every reason that everybody else loved it.”
