It’s been nine years since CM Punk walked out of WWE, and Punk stayed away from wrestling for quite some time after parting ways with the company. Since then the former WWE Champion has gone on to join AEW, but his AEW status remains unknown following a physical altercation with The Elite that took place back in September.
Following the altercation with The Elite it was reported that AEW was in talks to buy out CM Punk’s contract which immediately got fans talking about a possible WWE return.
Road Dogg recently addressed a potential return to WWE on his Oh You Didn’t Know? podcast, and the Senior Vice President of Live Events explained his take on why WWE might be willing to give Punk another chance.
“Never say never with these guys. They will give you a second chance. [WWE] will give you an opportunity if it’s business savvy, and bringing him back might be. The reason it might be is because he’s a needle mover.”
