CM Punk is one of the most talked about wrestling stars in years and whether people love him or hate him it seems that everyone has an opinion on the former AEW World Champion. Punk has wrestled some big opponents throughout his career and his promos have often been the highlight when it comes to his feuds.
The Straight Edge Superstar has emphasized that he’s a professional wrestler throughout his career, but Road Dogg recently explained on his Oh You Didn’t Know? podcast when he feels the sports entertainer label also fits CM Punk.
“Punk’s a great example of a guy that if you just went with wrestler, wrestler, wrestler, wouldn’t have made it without the attitude, mic skills and I don’t want to say character because Punk was never really a character, he was just himself, but he’s good at it.”
CM Punk hasn’t appeared on AEW programming since the All Out pay-per-view back in September and his current status with All Elite Wrestling is unknown. Some fans have wondered if he could return to WWE someday and Road Dogg has stated that you can “never say never” in regards to a possible WWE return for Punk.
