Royal Rumble weekend was huge for not only the stars of WWE, but the stars of NXT as well.
The spotlight was on NXT on Saturday night during TakeOver, and several NXT stars also appeared in the men’s and women’s Royal Rumble matches.
One wrestler who made a surprise appearance in the women’s Royal Rumble match was none other than former American Ninja Warrior champion, and current NXT star, Kacy Catanzaro.
WWE released some backstage footage from the Royal Rumble, and it shows Kacy’s boyfriend, Ricochet, gushing over her performance.
“I had tears in my eyes, like even now,” Ricochet told Kacy. “You did great. My heart was beating fast than it’s ever been for one of my matches. I was so stoked.”
“I couldn’t have done it without you,” Kacy replied.
