Ricky Starks has been one of the most talked about wrestlers over the last few months as everyone has been wondering about his future. It was reported earlier this week that Starks had been released from All Elite Wrestling, and he debuted with NXT shortly after when he cut a promo during this week’s episode.

It was noticeable that Ricky Starks was not mentioned by name during the NXT broadcast which led to some speculation that WWE may be giving him a different name. Fightful Select reports that he is listed and being referred to internally as “Ricky Starks” even though WWE didn’t refer to the name on screen.

It was noted that WWE often works on sync agreements which allows them to utilize names and other trademarks when a performer is with the company. The belief is that Ricky’s deal came together so quickly that the company decided to work on the side of caution.

Originally Ricky Starks was being advertised for a Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling event on Saturday, February 15th. However, Starks has been pulled from the show. TCW confirmed Starks will not be appearing when the company posted the following announcement:

“Important announcement

Due to circumstances beyond our control, Ricky Starks will not be in attendance on Saturday, February 15th at the Tannery Row Ale House. However, you can still expect the same incredible evening of Georgia’s premier star studded, action packed, family friendly, independent professional wrestling that TCW Live has to offer!
We will see you at the matches!”

The NXT Vengeance Day premium live event is currently scheduled for Saturday, so it will be interesting to see if Ricky Starks ends up showing up at some point during the show. As of right now Ricky’s next appearance on WWE programming has not been officially announced just yet.
