The pro wrestling world is full of unfortunate stories and Rich Swann’s recent incident is certainly one we wish never happened. All charges were dismissed in the public blow-up with his wife and fellow pro wrestler Su Yung after being accused of domestic battery and false imprisonment. But it looks like this situation still could have caused Swann’s WWE release.
Now it looks like these accusations might also be costing the former WWE Cruiserweight Champion work on the indie circuit as well. He vented a little bit about the matter recently and sparked another beef when making a comparison to Nick Gage who robbed a bank and is still getting lots of work.
After this little online incident, Rich Swann announced that he was retiring after he fulfills the dates currently on his calendar. He thanked everyone who “took a chance” on his name and made it seem like he was really serious about the matter.
Since then the Wrestling Observer website reported Swann was pulling out of all of his indie dates and looks to be retiring. Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Swann might not be retiring forever because he’s very young. But it looks like he’s at least taking a break from the business.
In the midst of all this public scrutiny, Swann’s wife Su Yung is still standing by her man. She spent some time online recently updating her Twitter with messages of support and encouragement for her husband.
Su Yung also made it very clear that her husband is not a threat to anyone and all they wish for is some privacy while they allow the time because “love will heal all.” She concluded by saying that she will never give up on her husband. It looks like she certainly spoke her piece on the situation. Now let’s just see what the next steps might be.
