Ric Flair has been making headlines for some time now thanks to his upcoming final match, but last year he was making headlines for a different reason due to “Plane Ride From Hell” episode that aired on Vice’s Dark Side Of The Ring.
Flair found himself on the receiving end of some negative backlash due to sexual misconduct allegations against him that were highlighted in the episode, and WWE removed his “Woooo” from their signature open.
The “Woooo” was added back to the signature open during the July 4 episode of Monday Night Raw, and during an appearance on Busted Open Radio, The Nature Boy said that he personally thanked Vince McMahon after his voice returned to the open.
“I went and saw Vince yesterday [Monday] to personally thank him because they were in Tampa. It made me feel like my world had changed again. It made me feel a lot better than when they took me off. Everything Vince McMahon has ever said to me has come true and he said, ‘I promise you I’ll put you back on it,’ and he did. I went over there and thanked him.”
Ric Flair’s final match will take place from Nashville on July 31, and it was confirmed this week that he will team up with Andrade El Idolo to face the team of Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
